This Wednesday's (4 Nov) retirees group ride will be at New Quarter Park, 10 AM.
  • November 02, 2026 9:34 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Join us Saturday, Nov 7 at Wahrani to help build a new downhill trail section from the Graveyard downhill to connect to the existing trail before the last berm and the 1st tabletop.

Time: 9:00 AM in the parking lot, but if you come later, just ride your bike out to the graveyard and follow the pink flags to find us. (From the parking lot, just stay left at every intersection until you get to the Graveyard/Blue loop.)

Bring your bike to ride to the work site. We'll drive the tools out there with a 4-wheeler.  Work will include raking, clearing deadfall, maybe some dirt work. With enough people we might be able to get the whole section rideable!  AND GET YOUR EVMA T-SHIRT (for current members).

We had 4+ tons of granite rocks delivered on Tuesday and need help turning them into 2 rock gardens on Marl Ravine trail. Come help and get your EVMA t-shirt*!  We’ll lengthen one existing rock garden, build a new difficult one, and rake in ride-arounds for both.

We could use a few wheelbarrows, but we'll have all other tools.  Wear work gloves and bring water.  Weather should be great!

Meet at the Maintenance Shop no later than 9:30 AM.  Half way down the park road look for the EVMA banners on the right and turn into the gravel driveway.

*Current EVMA members are eligible for a free t-shirt by attending a trail work day, group ride, etc.  Not a member yet?  Join us at EVMA.org, Join Us, then come to trail work and get a t-shirt!

Wahrani: Join EVMA member Joe Simmons by 9:30 AM for a beginner-friendly group ride at Wahrani Natures Trails.  Be ready for some short punchy climbs that lead to quick, fun downhills and fun stuff like tabletops, etc.  We hope that you like our new signs showing you the way!  9:30 AM start time in the gravel parking lot.  Address: Wahrani Nature Trails, 17485 Eltham Rd., Lanexa, VA.

Western Slope day trip: Up to 8 downhill runs with an hourly shuttle!  Choose your own adventure to descend ranging from rocky gnar to flowy fun.  We’ll mix up the runs based on interest and skill level.  You don’t have to ride the rocky gnar; it is very easy to start on smoother, flowier trails.  *You don’t have to be an expert rider for (most of) these trails – there are plenty of intermediate/Blue trails, and even some of the Black trails are very do-able (you might walk through a short rock garden).

    All-day shuttle and day-pass is $50 for 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  https://www.massresort.com/play/mountain-biking/western-slope/https://www.trailforks.com/region/western-slope-19618/

If you are interested in joining or have questions, contact Chris ASAP @ the e-mail address in the 10/07/26 EVMA weekly e-mail.
