The Eastern Virginia Mountainbike Association was started in 1988 by a dedicated group of cyclists in order to ensure that mountain bikers in the Tidewater, Virginia area would continue to have places to ride and enjoy the sport of Mountain Biking.

TRAIL NEWS:
York River State Park: The trail extension at York River State Park is finsihed. There is a total of 3 1/2 miles, 1 mile which is two-direction and a 2 1/2 mile one-direction loop. Thanks to everyone who helped on the trail. The park will be installing signage soon. The Friends of York River State Park reimbursed the club for the lumber and nails we purchased for the bridge and for some tools.

EVENTS:
EVMA Spring Fling Bike Festival: The Spring Fling Bike Festival at New Quarter Park was very successful. We raised a total of $519 for the Meredith Nicolls Health Fund through food donations, swap meet, raffles, and contests. The jump contest and bunny hop contest were both a good show. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out the day of the event.

OTHER EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Jerseys: The freeride jersey order has been placed and the jerseys should arrive in mid-July.
Douthat: We had another great camping trip at Douthat State Park. The next camping trip will be in September, dates to be announced.
